As for the RX7 , incredible engine potential, and incredible chassis. with perfect weight ratio of 50-50. Rx7's have been used in rally,road racing,targa,drag,drift, enduro, auto x, etc

#3 even the later stiffer model 280z's have a little too much chassis flex to drift well.
#4 None of the early Z cars have a limited slip rear end, so that will only hurt you.
#5 Because they are so short and narrow you stand a good chance of flipping one drifting it.
So final answer is No these cars don't make good drift cars, not without heavy modifying. Your better off getting a 240sx to drift with if you want a cheap drift car.

Toyota designs more parts for them selves then probably any manufacture and that is why they can keep quality up so high and consistent.
GM, Ford, Chrysler....ahem... I mean Fiat, probably outsource about 75% of their car's parts to outside companies in China and Mexico.

They don't need help from Yamaha to design an engine, they borrowed their research into acoustics, got it, okay now go play your accordion!

If you were to do some decent research about the LFA you will be surprised at what an accomplishment it really is.
The LFA was designed and built piece by piece "in-house", which means they did not outsource any parts or design outside of Toyota, with exception to Yamaha's tuning of the exhaust, but Yamaha is partly owned by Toyota.
Even Ferrari doesn't build their cars 100% "in-house". They get electronics from GM, carbon fiber parts from outside makers... etc.

It was not about price it was about weight. The LFA engine is as light as a V6 and the size of a V8. Plus a V10 has less reciprocating mass than a V12 and that is what gives the LFA engine such a "happy to rev" quality!

I used to inspect cars at an auction. Those fake wood panels on the doors were always cracked. The pleather wasn't as nice as the leather you'd see in some US luxury cars like Ford (even in the trucks), or even Mercs. I love Infiniti's desgin, feel of the drive, the sound of the engine and especially the exhaust. But for quality of material, it goes cheap. But the plastics are always better quality in Japanese cars. I still love these cars, minus the wood panel on the doors.

You got a point, but a Hyundai Santa Fe is not a Sports Crossover. Is based on a FWD platform, the normal Santa Fe is FWD, and the AWD version is front biased, meaning that most of the time all power is sent through the front axle. Engine is transversely mounted, showing it´s FWD origins. (evo X is an exception to this, as it is also transversely, but an EVO X is whole different story.) Now the FX and the X6 are transversely mounted, rear wheel drive crossovers, available with AWD.
