By: vilemd. on 23 Jul 10, 21:21:39 im still confused about this....dont you blow the air down the hose that goes back to your transmission so you clean out the line and put that oil into the bottom of the tranny....then you drain the oil out the bottom, put it back and fill it with new oil......and then the house coming out of the cooler to the tranny is ran down to the bucket and run the car till its clear while your pouring in the oil.
i dont know but that would make sense to me, and it looks like the way you did it ????

then like you did pump out the still dirty oil from the transmission.... why wouldnt you just use the proper transmission oil from the start?? since the black oil thats being pumped out is just the old oil anyways........maybe im missing somthing

You can't be too sure that you're matching the flow rate from the supply to your pouring bottle and not causing damage to the transmission.

1.2 bar is the equivalent of 17.4045285 psi.
So it's running 17.5 psi, which is pretty high for a street car, although still in the safe limits of an engine that hasn't been redone from the ground up....

I do plan on building up a turbo model. plans are 250-300ish horse power with a twin sequential turbo set up with the block bored at to 3.0 exactly. But the corvette engine would still be the better of the two. anything past 250 ish HP on an L28 is kinda pushing it. you really got to know what your doing so you don't blow it up. I never have to worry about the Ls1 though.

With stock engine and good tires on 8 inch wide rims it will do the quarter inside of 11 seconds. Hoping to lower that close to a second with the skyline rear. But other than some basic tuning I don't really plan to upgrade the engine. I'm not building it for top speed but rather hard track racing and drifting with a quick tire change and a suspension adjustment.

im still confused about this....dont you blow the air down the hose that goes back to your transmission so you clean out the line and put that oil into the bottom of the tranny....then you drain the oil out the bottom, put it back and fill it with new oil......and then the house coming out of the cooler to the tranny is ran down to the bucket and run the car till its clear while your pouring in the oil. i dont know but that would make sense to me, and it looks like the way you did it ????

i agree with blitz!!! if you drop the pan, drain that oil, and then fill up the trans oil. then like you did pump out the still dirty oil from the transmission.... why wouldnt you just use the proper transmission oil from the start?? since the black oil thats being pumped out is just the old oil anyways........maybe im missing somthing

Can't you just fully drain it and then top it up with cheap dextron 3, run the engine, drain one quart, fill one quart, then fully drain again? You can't be too sure that you're matching the flow rate from the supply to your pouring bottle and not causing damage to the transmission.

I liked the video - very concise directions. I have one question however: You say you drive the car around for half a day then you'll perform the flush again. Is it bad to mix dextron with premium ATF? If the cheaper dextron doesn't get dirty, how long do you have to run the engine to replace all of the dextron with premium fluid?

A majority of vehicles made do not have a drain plug for the transmission therefore this video doesnt help, but for those that do i guess this works. Ive done a filter and fluid change before and i would reccomend taking it somewhere to have it done. Its not worth the hassle.

i just paid $75 for a drain & flush at an EconoLube. they said Honda recommends 4.5 qts drained and then refill. As I watched however I was that he only only put about 2.5 bottles back in. This is on a 2004 odyssey. they also said it's a 12 quart system. what happened here? does that sound normal to you? did i get ripped off?
