In F1 cars, there's no automatic mode, but it's the same type of transmission. Two clutches, as he explained in the video. The only delay would be when you're in an intermediate gear and have been going up, and decide to shift down, but it's still probably faster than a human.

I have a Yahama FJR AE, which has an identical paddle shifter system, but not the full auto modes.
A Honda salesman explained the VFR system to me, and I predicted that most riders would use the paddle shifters most of the time. Thanks for vindicating me!
Who would drive it? I guess lazy people, such as your typical slothful Formula One driver.
Once I tried the paddle shifter it was clear to me why so many high performance cars use paddles.

thanks. i actually ended up going to a dismantling place and they sold me just that piece off a differrent honda (its wasnt even accord) for $10. worked fine! learned my lesson! lol
One thing he forgot ... By: kingalbrect79. on 08 Jun 10, 21:14:24 One thing he forgot to mention on the hondas is that there is a set screw that must be taken out before you pry up the rotor. There is a notch in the dust cover for the distributor electronics that allows you to get a screwdriver in there by rotating it until it lines up.
If you pry on it before you take this out you risk snapping the rotor and having to buy a new one. They are just made from a fiber composite plastic anyway.

You'll have to find a new distributor from a wrecking yard. It's god awful expensive to purchase a new distributor base from the dealer. Last time I priced one it was over $300.

is it possible if its not lined up the exact postion before it was taken off its cuseing the oil to come out?
Or do i need that liquid gasket paste?

Worth mentioning: when the main relay goes bad (which switches the fuel pump and ECU on), it can be repaired for $0. Remove it from the car (easiest to slide it's innards out of it's casing and leave the casing bolted to the car), you will see cold solder joints on the relays soldered to the pcb. Re-solder the joints, put it back together again, bam - good as new.

@martinbond1993 oh yes that' s a fantastic engine. I think it's one of the best V6 in the world !! It sounds so so strong and muscular it's very different from that sort of heavy bass tune from it's rival's V8.

@Bobpulse2345 rumors are that the nsx is going to make a comeback soon. Honda left Formula 1 but they started building exclusively for the Indy car series and there has only been 1 engine failure since they started. Indy's a better choice for them at the moment.

And as a business, I guess they need to focus on staying afloat in such hard times right now. Rumor has it they never made money off the NSX and the S2000.
