On the whole here in the UK we all drive much smaller cars anyway. there's far more Punto's, Fiesta's, Focuses and other such cars than X5s, Land Rovers or ML320s. That way the object you crash into is much lighter in the first place.

I'm pretty sure the current Acura MDX has a better crash test rating, and given that it is an SUV, it is better in a head-on collision that a Town Car, but in a side impact the Town Car is probably better, although your head in a town car is at the same height as the front of the car hitting you.
