By: workensmart. on 16 Sep 09, 22:38:46 yea thats the problem I had with my Grand Prix the front rotors would warp in about 20K miles. the first gen W bodys look nice but they have allot little stupid problems like that. the best thing about those platforms is the old 3.1L MPFI V6 they had great passing power and they got good fuel economy I used to get 28mph high way with my grand prix and it had 190K miles onit. it would have gone for another 80 90k if some stupid girl didn't blow a stop sign and broad side me. that car was perfect

They got that cube with all sorts of nubs that fits on a ratchet which is junk. The ford taurus with rear disk brakes is the same way. I think the reason why they seize too is that the rear does 15% or less of braking force which the piston and the float pins rarely move at all. They all use the tiny size brake pads. Most of the braking is done in the front which warps rotors and wears out tires quickly.

But those rear brakes are the worst ever they seize up all the time. I tried to polish up the sliders on the rear calipers and that worked for me they never seized up again. I also put on Fiero front calipers because they have those little heat sinks on the calipers. they bolt right on the stock front caliper mount.

I have to do this job probably this weekend to my brother's car. He has the single leaf spring setup on his instead of the coil springs. The bolts are even easier to get to instead of climbing in the trunk to bolt it in place. I have not seen a lumina around here with the rear coil springs setup. I mainly worked on the 96 and 97 models. Maybe they changed this in the 98 and later.

Support the wheel ... By: jimmy101112000. on 16 Sep 09, 20:04:53 Support the wheel hub with a jack. Im going to bet the bolt is pinched and you need to take the weight off of it. If thats not the problem just put the nut on the very end of the bolt threads until the bolt end is flushed with the nut so you have a surface to beat on.
Then heat the lilttle bastard Bolt until its glowing red hot on the threaded side then take a brass hammer to it. If your going to replace the bolt you can use a small steel sludge hammer to break it free.

helow , nice car but you have some really big problem's,the wheel s are too small ,and they don't have outside reflections, because they are from a studio photo,the next big mistake is the central "thing" where is the chevrolet sigle ,that thing is werry "OFF" , i like the paintjob, and the matchings ,keep try-ing (sorry for my english :d) i hope you understand shometing
